Confirm Takeoff Location

Steve Shackelford

Why am I not in the correct Takeoff Location? Saw a similar post, but I have 15 satillite connections. I did various circles around the Takeoff Location, but never succeeded in getting into the 'correct' location for a takeoff w/o the pop up notice, so I did not want to chance it. Notice also...no FPV, again. This happened with or without the screen recording, although in another location several hundred yards away (trying to do a different mission/plan), the FPV worked with and without the phone screen recording on. But... when I started that mission, the Mini climbed to the plan altitude and just hovered, while the mission countdown timer continued as if the mission was being run. Why? One other thing... at top right between the satillite icon indicator & the RC Signal icon there is another icon with a circle /line over the icon, What does this icon indicate? Out of 6 trips to the flight field, I have only performed one succesfully, and it was without FPV. Any advise/suggestions appreciated. Discouraging :(   PS feet are indicated on PC when setting up a plan, but show in meters on App? How to change to feet on App?

    • The dialog is just a warning and you will only see it if you takeoff further than 50 feet away from the planned take off location. The takeoff location is marked by the purple clipboard icon of your mission plan.
    • I suspect that the lack of FPV and the inability to run missions are related (possibly the same issue). I assume you do not have DJI Fly running in the background?
    • The circle with red means there is no obstacle avoidance (in this case because your drone doesn't have them)
    • Persisting the unit system between the web app and the native app will be in the next release (1.7.1).

Report from one of our internal testers: the DJI SDK seems to be a bit finicky with this drone, and sometimes you have to terminate the Dronelink app and open it again to get the FPV feed.

Uh Oh... these 2 screen shots of the mission -I saw no "Clipboard"... but, it IS on my Desktop Plan. Now why wouldn't it show up on Dronelink App at field? And I did download the plan at home, via the App on Phone on my wifi, like you had mentioned.

Yea, seems Dronelink's background map does not always line up with google earth's rendition of the flight plan takeoff location?? So I must have be farther than 50 ft according to the lat/lon set at time of making plan?? Really appreciate all your time & help. I can see how you are running in a hundred different directions at one time. But I am slowly picking up some valuable info on this Community Site... very glad it is available!!

I saw another post having to do with starting DJI Fly App first to hear it confirm "Homepoint Updated" Then...?? turn off DJI & turn on Dronelink?? Then proceed with mission? What procedure do you use, step by step, starting with turning the drone & RC & phone on?

I 'believe' I turn DJI Fly App off??  Not sure what you mean about it 'running in the background'- sorry.

Does "terminate" the Dronelink App mean log off? I hope not - no data or wifi at field to log back on.

    TY TY

Terminate means force stop the app. The takeoff icon shows on the web:

Force stop by hitting that little logo up in top left hand corner, right?
