Unable to take off, mavic mini, Samsung s20+

Has anyone figured this out yet? I can’t takeoff without the Dronelink app. I have to do some crazy procedure that I can never quite remember. Something like... takeoff with DJI fly, unplug remote from controller, exit dji fly, plug back in, start Dronelink, select mission, play mission. The first time it “worked”, the drone floated away and I had to takeover before it crashed. If I could get that issue worked out, I’d be quite happy with the Dronelink app.

Seems to be Android that has issues. I think those USB messages that pop up are important to activate.

I generally do this...
- Turn on Drone and Controller
- Turn on DJI Fly
- When the USB prompt comes on hit DJI Fly and "once only)
- Then within DJI Fly clear any authorities (if near an airport) and Calibrate Compass if required.
- Don't take off in DJI Fly
- Turn off DJI Fly
- Turn in Dronelink
- Important: when the USB prompt comes up select Dronelink and "once only"
- You should then be good to go.
- On Android changing between the two apps does seem to cause problems

I just tried a couple of things with my DJI Mini,

Using Dronelink you CAN take off, just not the Auto Takeoff.

Once connected to the drone, push both your joysticks in and down. This should start the props turning, from there you would just need to push joystick forward as you would to increase altitude. Let me know if that works. If not maybe one of the settings, but this works on my Mini. I did NOT need to unplug USB connection or anything...

I basically do all the same dance steps as Andrew with my MM. I also have to reboot my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy 10) before every flight. Ah, and I also always switch on the power to the controller before drone. I have seen this is important for some reagoi. Quite complicated yes, but I am sure this gets simpler when the Android SW matures.

One comment to DroneLink. I hope you use your test results equally between Android and iPhone. I have a feeling that you are leaning more towards iPhone, but I could be wrong :-)

FYI, I couldn’t get Andrews method to work. I always had to take off with DJI first, exit DJI, start DL, then start mission. Flew 2 missions today with eventual problems (for another post). I will have to try the 2stick down method.
