Problem with DRONELINK Server ???????????
I am using an IPad air
I am using chrome
I am using the same things, internet provider, as yesterday.
nothing changed in any setting.
I am working on app.dronelink.com
login as usual, no problem
already tried to close and reopen browser, turn off iPad, etc.
YESTERDAY all was working
TODAY creating a new plan:
- when in a component if I ask “add drone heading” it does not appear, but if I click DONE in upper right corner and then open the component again, the heading line is there.
- if I change a parameter (I.e. in heading, from path to north) I still see PATH, but if I click DONE and then reopen, I see north.
- if I close the PLAN and reopen, ALL MY WORK IS LOST !!!!! The plan is empty without components. Even the name I gave is lost, and it is again “New plan”
I am really angry for this, already redone the same plan 4 times without success
what is going on ? Anyone else has problems ?
or what should I do to have DRONELINK planner workin again?
EVERYDAY A PROBLEM, since I bought it !!!!

The Dronelink mission planner can be a resource intensive web app, especially if you generate many mission previews over the course of editing. We have noticed poor performance like you describe when the system is running out of resources (particularly memory), which has happened to us when we had many tabs opened ran many, many mission previews (as previously stated). Are you using the original iPad Air (released in 2013 with 1gb of system memory)?
If the problem was already know is a good thing.
I have an IPAD Pro 10,5" Model A1709, 64Gb
Don't remember the year but is not 2013, is much more recent
Also, I do not open more than one tab (for app.dronelink) but I have other tabs opened. Will try to close all and work with Dronelink only.
Also I forgot to say that I currently have only 5/6 plans on my account, and I work with one plan at a time. Also, my plans are quite small (10-12 components max).
Jim, after a full "clear data" on chrome (cookies, cache, etc) and working with only one tab, all is fine. thank you
The problem with losing all one's work in the web app occurs both with Safari (latest version 13.1.2) on MacBook Pro, top notch model 2018 (32 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD) and with Safari, latest version on iPad Pro 10.5 inch 256 GB SSD. I have not been able to reproduce the problem with either Firefox, Chrome, Edge or Opera on either machine. As Jim McAndrew notes, the issue seems to occur in particular after having done a good deal of work simulating flights. Note, that Safari on Mac does issue the warning that the script is taking up a lot of memory, so this may possibly be due to a classical memory leak or a missing window.URL.revokeObjectURL (I have 25 years of experience programming in JavaScript, hence this geek talk).
The only remedy seems to be to change browser or to refresh after having done simulations.
I lost a couple of days of work this way, since the "copy" function unfortunately also stops working, seemingly at the very same time the app stops saving to the server.
- Otherwise really brilliant user interface, great, very professional work, (as always, still with room for improvements)! 😀
SK, I also work with PC and programming since 1984. Just to say that I am sure, that in my case:
- I was using my iPad PRO 10.5" (sorry, not an air)
- I was using CHROME, not Safari
- I had MANY open tabs on other websites
- I create a simple mission with one destination, one path, and some markers.
- I had still to try the simulation and I had not made simulations in that session
- the preview wiindow in simulation was showing "loading" for minutes, without errors, that is why I decided to close the session on iPad / Chrome and open the web app on Windows PC / CHrome, that's when I realized that the mission was empty.
Anyway, the issue seems related to lack of memory.
