Dronie

Andrew Busst

I'm trying to write a Drone Plan from scratch to teach myself about orientating the drone. I just want the Drone to rise up say 4 metres, Spin around to face me, maybe wait 3 or 4 seconds, then head off to an altitude say 30m high and 50m away keeping centre of view fixed on me.

Does anybody have plans they could share or advice? I can get the Dronie to work but it always seems to want to spin the drone around to face me as I'm pulling away at the start. That's using a marker and POI on the path away from me but right at the very start,

Many thanks

Andrew

P.S. I know I can use "on the fly" but wanted to try planning it.

In case anybody was watching this thanks to Jim I have now sorted this and am very happy!

My Dronie plan is here https://app.dronelink.com/andrew-busst/public/plan/D83yHWOPDdcjUPiEDa0w

The key to having the Drone orientation match from the approach to the path (or orbit I imagine) is to put a marker right at the very start of path with a matching Drone heading. To make sure it's right at the start and not just even a tiny ways into the path click just outside the approach waypoint on the dotted line and it should snap to the start of the path.

If you don't do this and load the marker slightly into the path the drone will realign to the path direction then slowly orientate to whatever you load as your drone heading in the 1st marker.
