Drone Too Far Off Course message
I saw another post about message 'Drone Too Far Off Course'.
You asked if it was really windy. Not for the flights listed here.
Flew the same mission twice with consistent results. Mission completes. Message 'Drone Too Far Off Course:' shows up 3 times for each flight.
This flight was set up to go up to 100 feet. This is the flight that stops with the message.

This is a similar flight going up to 50 feet. No issues.

Before I found the suggestion of looking at Neuschwanstein Castle mission plan for
an example of a diagonal flight to some location, I experimented with using only a Destination component.
Possible, but too much work.
Flights to 50 feet and 100 feet both worked.

I think this is happening because you have a very wide altitude range on the approach (+- 100 feet) and a very narrow motion error tolerance on the plan (15 feet distance & altitude).
You need to increase the error tolerances:
On documentation, see this thread.
On the mission preview, it takes into account everything except real-world, environmental conditions (wind, heat, etc) since it isn't in the real world.
Hello Jim
I got the same error on a AGL (80 meters) mapping mission.
The mission was set from a KMZ file.
The the fligth was going really well, neraly 97% of it was done when the error occur.
i tried to restart the mission twice but didn't work, then i landed the drone and waited for about 15 min to restart the mission again and i got the same message, i hope you can give some guideness about what to do in further missions to prevent this problems.
Thanks in advance!

This article is the best advice we have:
https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052533153-Why-does-the-drone-fly-off-course-or-make-jerky-movements-during-certain-mission-plans-
Are there any specific drawbacks to setting the Motion Error Tolerance too high? I set mine to 75ft to transition between two orbits. Would it be more advisable to set waypoints at small altitude changes instead?
Maybe sharing your plan will help. If just changing Altitude between two components the motion tolerance doesn’t need to be changed to do that. Majority of the default values in DL should not be changed. Unless there is a specific reason and you know exactly how it will effect the mission it’s better to leave them alone. I rarely change any of them and I’ve had no issues over two years with DL.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
Thanks Mike. There's an altitude change and lateral change. I slowed the drone down on the decent and the error went away.
Cheers, Jay
Ok Jay I understand. You didn’t mention it was giving an error. Those defaults don’t really need to be changed regardless. Normal descending and ascending should work without issue but it may depend on the plans setup. Very steep climbs combined with speed set too fast can cause issues. Good luck and enjoy.
