Dronelink Won't connect to Spark
I have a DJI Spark, iPhone with iOS 13.3.1 and Dronelink 1.2.0. I’ve created a couple of missions. I turn on the spark controller and the drone, connect my phone to the Spark WiFi, open Dronelink and nothing, it never connects to the Spark. What am I missing?

Have you tried connecting to the remote control? I don't think the DJI SDK works over wifi.
Do you mean phone to controller with an OTG cable? No, I don't have one of those. I'm trying to fly it just as I normally would with the DJI Go4 app.
Yes
So everyone on here flying with your app is using an OTG cable? Seems like that's quite a fundamental piece of information to know before you start.
Apologies for the confusion. I will note it in the system requirements FAQ. Most people on Dronelink are not using the spark.
I am using the Spark with an OTG cable and it's brilliant!
This has left me really bleak! I guess instead of going through all of the tutorials and planning my first mission, it's something which I should have checked first!
I have the Spark without a controller, as DJI no longer do the "flymore " pack with a controller, so I've been using GO4. The range is pretty pathetic though, hence my excitement when coming across Dronelink.
If I'm reading this thread correctly, does it mean that without the DJI controller I can't use Dronelink?
The DJI SDK does not support connecting to the spark over wifi unfortunately, so yes you need the controller.
Thanks Jim.
As I'm new to all this, please excuse the stupid question, but is it possible to connect directly to the drone from my laptop or phone, and programme it with the mission that way?
I've just managed to answer my own question, by searching a bit further. I see that the mission is run via the app, and therefore would need to have a signal from the controller at all times. It now makes sense to me why DJI only allow it using the controller, as the wi-fi range is tiny.
