Battery Power Triggered Return To Home?
Is there an on/off option to trigger RTH based on the battery power and distance to the return point?

DJI has these options built-in to the drone firmware. Whatever you set in DJI GO still applies when flying in Dronelink.
Clarification on this question, so if I have the setting at the end of a mission to NOT return to home but continue to free fly, the drone will fly until it reaches the battery level set in DJI GO 4 for return to home which will trigger the function through dronelink app? For clarity, is this the "smart return home" feature in DJI? Meaning, if I have this turned off in DJI, the drone will not fly back automatically.
2nd clarification - so if this is the case, sounds like I would need/want to enable this function in DJI app when flying certain automated missions (such as a multi-battery mapping mission) so that when it hits the battery level, it will bring the drone back for a change? Otherwise, it is just me monitoring closely and pausing the missing and flying it back for the change?
Somewhat related, is there a way to view battery voltage in drone link app in addition to percentage?
Thanks,
I fly mapping missions regularly that require 5-10 battery swaps.
As the distances are often large, I have the smart RTH set and the drone happily returns home when that is triggered. IMHO, for large maps, this is the best way to deal with that situation as it allows for safely maximizing your battery.
Hi Mike. If you want to manually fly after the mission completes then just set the “Action on Finish” in the DL app settings to None. It will just hover and at this point you will have manual control just like with the DJI app and use the controller. Controller sticks cannot be used until mission completes.
Yes, once the battery reaches low battery it will RTH manually flying with DL app. It will act the same as when using the DJI app if that is what you have selected in the app.
To clarify, the settings in the DJI app carry over to DL app. So the drone will do whatever you set in the DJI app for a disconnect which is either, Hover, Auto Land or RTH. Also the drones RTH altitude, Max Altitude and Max Distance will be what is set in the DJI app. When needing to do battery swaps you can still set any of those settings and it will still automatically return for a battery swap then continue the mission.
The DL app automatically triggers on low battery for a swap then continues the mission perfectly. The DJI Fly app triggers first low battery automatically at 20% for my MA2 and can’t be changed. This value is the same as what DL uses for a RTH for a battery swap.
Enjoy, Mike….
