First Flight Error Message - com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException

Chris Elliott

Did my first flight with Dronelink today, very powerful controls. Took 2 tries to get Camera Start Capture in the right place.

My bird is a P4P using Samsung S7 edge. Mission was 1 Path,  4 POIs, 9 Waypoints, 5 Markers.

The app threw 2 message during the mission as follows:

com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Expected BEGIN_ARRAY but was NUMBER at line 1 column 1 path $

com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Expected BEGIN_OBJECT but was STRING at line 1 column 2 path $

I have no idea what these mean. I was able to dismiss the message and Press play to continue the mission on both occasions and complete the mission. Airdata log shows notifications "Mode changed to Joystick" at the point where the mission stops.

Please advise.

We have been trying to reproduce this for a while. If you have a reliable set of steps, please post them.

Adjusted the flight some and ran the mission to replicate the issue, and have not received any error message since running the mission as my 2nd flight. However, while modifying  the mission,  I remembered that the 2 places that threw the error message were initially created as Markers + POI's. A few iterations during that initial mission creation, the first was moved around on the path resulting in a re-ordering/numbering based on position on the path, and also the POI was unlinked and recreated. This marker was never deleted after initial creation, only moved around.

The Marker at the 2nd error message was created with (no Parameter selected) and modified eventually to a Drone Heading (Path).

No sure how much this may help.
