App froze in map mission.

JAMES DONELSON

I was doing a map and about half way thru it just stopped the drone and snapped away.

I could not pause the mission nor do much of anything else.

I terminated the app and went into DJU Go the bring her home.

Please upgrade to 1.1.0 and post the mission plan if it still has the issue after upgrading.

Is that the version that's on your DJI Monitor link? Because it is the exact same file name as the version I have. My first move was to see if there was an upgrade.

Those of use not using gplay have no way to know.

Consider putting the version in the file name so I would have known.

    Thanks Jim

The goal is to keep the same file name so we don't have to update the links to google drive every time we make an update. You can always just go back to the same link and it serves you the latest version. None of this will matter once we get the app distributed through Google Play but we are still waiting on DJI for a fix on that.

I think the fix is that DJI has to pony up the licensing fee to google. Android is open source - play store is not.

I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Do I need to do an uninstall? (I'm actually more of an IOS user).

The issue is the APK size (> 100MB). Google's solution is app bundles, but there is an issue preventing us from packaging the app into a bundle.

You should be able to just install it over the previous version.

Actually, the SC installer asked be if I wanted to up grade and got rid of the older one.

We do need some way to know when a new version is available.

Is there any chance that you could use the Amazon app store? You can just install that no issues.

Also perhaps APK Pure could work. You can install that app no issues too. They track updates.

The app itself will notify you when you need to upgrade. You were just testing right before we pushed the in-app notification.

i am having the same issue with Mavic Mini.

did few missions with no problem at all, but after that every map mission, drone stops in the air and just hovers and takes pictures.

app just freezes, return home button on controller works luckily. then after turning off drone and reconnecting to app (without exiting app) i can resume mission.

tried to add drone connection fail safe - return home, no luck.

wish I didn't delete other missions. but others were also grid and normal mapping mode similar area sizes and heights.

a little update, it appears freezing app happens only during grid map mission.

afterwards I tried loading orbit template mission and it froze again.

    IMHO it is app freezing.

The new version wasn't meant to address the original issue in this thread. I only posted the Google Play thing here because it had also been discussed.
