AEB Coupled with Pano

David White

It seems that camera type parameters AEB and Pano are mutually exclusive.  Is there a way to set camera type to AEB and then take a Pano?  I am a Mavic Pro user.

If I cannot but first I set the camera to AEB, what would I need to do to proram a Pano set of actions?

You cannot take AEB with panos with DJI interface as far as I know. However using the 360 Component and changing photo mode command to AEB could work. Although I have not tested. I just looked into it on the web app. What is missing though is the ability to set 3 or 5 exposures.

Agreed that the "Pano" photo type is a little confusing. It is a built-in option from DJI, not to be confused with the 360 Photo component in our Core repo:

You should definitely use the component, not the photo type. Will remove the option soon.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts around this. Your response makes more sense.

I assume that I can use the 360 component and then modify it, i.e. only do 1 row and/or cut down on the number of columns?

Sure, just hit the fork button.

"Sure, just hit the fork button."

About forking... I'm really worried I'm going to accidentally mess up someone else's work one day.  And eventually, when we have enough people on here, there will inevitably be the odd malicious person.

Perhaps the ability to edit someone else's work is not such a great idea.  At least, maybe that should not be the default behavior.

Last night, after midnight, I went out around the lake we were visiting near the village of Burabay to try shooting some "moonlight on the lake" film.  Didn't work so well for the Mavic Air, but I also took some film and photos with my iPhone.  This morning, I took several shots of things, including a lot of slow-mo film of insects flying, baby rapids... and some merely for the ambient sound of the water for use as background sound in future videos.

And later, in a hurry to pack and get ready for our car back home, I erased it all.  I meant to erase it, but I thought I'd copied it to my laptop.  It's complicated why that didn't happen, but the short story is, I managed to lose all that work.

    All of it.

I'd just like to encourage a, well, safer path for shared editing, because mistakes happen to well-meaning people, and sometimes the results are pretty significant.

Forking is safe because it creates a copy for you to edit without affecting the original. If you want to push changes back to the original, you can submit a pull request, but the original author has a choice before taking the changes:

Furthermore, if you don't want to allow pull requests on public repos, you can turn them off in the repo settings:

Separate from the forking discussion, when you say you erased all the work, I assume you meant the files on the SD card? I'm not clear how this is related to the collaboration workflows or accidentally deleting flight plans.

So the forking is already protected... Good to know.

And no, not the SD card... My iPhone.

The reason I included that was as an anecdotal argument for how people can make dumb mistakes.

So, I fork'd the 360 Pano component into one of my private repositories.  There I made a copy and modified it to perform just 1 row/3 frames for a simple 3 shot wide angle pano.  I will also play with some camera settings, specifically AEB and Portrait.  I am thinking that the only way I can see if AEB works is just try it!

My question is would I have to always hard code in the heading and pitch or is there a way I can use the simulated drone view or some other mechanism to auto set those parameters for me in my new component?  Kind of like what is done in the Dronelink 101 E3 video....

    Hope this makes sense.

You can use the + then New Destination + Heading, but unfortunately for your case it will drop down an extra destination component each time. We can update the menu to have a just Heading option.

The new options are now available.
