Suggested mission range
Hi there.
Is there a maximum mission range (or suggested) to avoid warnings or performance issues?
I have created a mission with 7 maps, each map covering about 55-60 hectares (135-150 acres). Even if I save individual maps as a new mission I am getting the large map warning.
I was wondering if I should make even smaller maps but it does not seem to be the case (around 30 min flight for each map) and max distance from home point no more than 500-600m on each map.
Am I doing something wrong? Drone is an Air2s

Hi Lupercio Luppi. Not sure if I’m understanding the question. Are you having disconnection issues of some kind ? Any time the mapping component gets to 100 acres it will give that warning. It does not mean it won’t work it’s just giving you the warning so you will be aware of possible issues. The only way to know if a 150 acre mapping mission will work with your device is to try and run it. There are a ton of other threads about the mapping component and size limitations if you want to look for some. The bottom lines is It’s always better to run completely separate smaller missions. It comes down to the size of the mapping component and the performance of the device you’re using. There is no set standard because there are too many variables. If this doesn’t help then can you give more specific info so maybe someone can help. I believe it’s around 99% of all mapping missions ran with the DL app are 100 acres as or smaller.
Thanks for your reply Mike. I did not have issues (yet) as I have only flown a few small missions with DL.
For this specific task I got this warning message and wonder if there was any recommendations to avoid the warning. Anyway that was indeed the info I was looking for... below 100 acres to be safe.
I am trying to maximize battery and mapping and 25-30 min flight time seems to be fine, as I got all maps for offline mission I will try to fly the mission as it is as I have managed to load them in the mobile device (Samsung Tablet) and will stick to the recommended mapping size for future missions (below 100 acres).

Your welcome. Since any large map will need a battery swap anyway it will pretty much guarantee success. Enjoy.
