Android for rc- n1 mini 3

alec josephson
New to this industry. I have a mini 3 and rc. From what I’ve gathered I need to have the rc-n1 and an android operating system. I’ve always been iOS so, what is the cheapest android device that will connect with the rc-n1, run the app, and control my flight smoothly? Does it matter if it’s a tablet or phone?

Hi! I have the same question as you. I have a DJI Mini 3 and I’m looking for an affordable Android tablet to connect to DroneLink. Have you found a solution?

I used the Samsung tablet a9+ 8gb. I had to do a manual install of the DJI fly app but eventually got it to work and fly through the controller/tablet(remember to un bind it from the previous controller). I have not used it with dronelink yet as I have playing with maps made easy. This has been a good reminder to check out drone link and see how it works. If I do, I’ll answer back to this.

Hey Paul, I want to let you know that I finally got around to playing with drone link with the setup mentioned in the previous comment. I have had several 45+min mapping ops in freezing cold weather and have had nothing but great success. No issues at all.

    Hi Alec,

I just found this post as I've just ordered a Samsung A9+ 8GB which arrives tomorrow. I have a Mini 3 pro and purchased an RC-N1 controller.

I need this for mapping and I'm a little more reassured hearing that you've had a good experience with it. I did buy a new Huawei phone and have had no joy at all with it in terms of map pilot pro, litchi and dronelink.

I'm hoping this tablet will work well, fingers crossed !

    All the best

    Paul
