Mapping Mission Stopped

Valérie DELAGE

I am trying to do a mapping mission, however it keeps getting interrupted, with a message saying :   "Automatic control interrupted: Drone must remain in P-GPS flight mode for automatic control".

I am flighing with a DJI Air2S.

I thought problem was because I was flighing in CINE mode. But I tryed in MORMAL mode. It worked once.

I retried with an other place / other flight and once again I obtain the same message error and drone stops when it reaches the starting mission point.

Can any one help on this?

You must be in normal mode, can you share the plan and let us know what controller and phone you're using, also make sure all your firmware is up to date

Hello Martin, thanks for you answer,

    I use  a RC N1 controller for Mavic Airs 2 S + Ipad.

Firmware is up to date. I've checked today. I've also calibrated Compass and IMU today ==> Have to check on a next flght

I've first done this one. First it didn't want to work but i was in CINE mode. I went on NORMAL mode and it work once. https://app.dronelink.com/delage-val-rie/mon-premier-projet/plan/iyGh6TwykzzXjQScBGGK/1D5abTPWJGwNONsemtgm

I was so happy after several weeks of questions that I wanted to try this one.

But once again it stopped, although I was in NORMAL Mode. Flight altitude set in DJI FLy = 110 m and Flighty distance set in DJI Fly = 140 m. Which should be ok for me with the mission!

I'll be glad if you could help me out.

I am convinced that thera are intrersting missions to do with Drone Link, but for the moment  I don't dare talk about it to may prospects until it works every time.

Hi Valérie DELAGE. Check the DL article to see if any of the suggestion may help. I don’t see any issue with either of the plans other than the max distance. It should be enough of a buffer but maybe set it 200 meters instead of 140 and try. Since it did work on some plans you could try one other thing. Others have reported when this has happened they switch the mode switch back and forth to sport or tripod/ Cine and then back to the Normal, P position and then it works. Not sure if it may help but if so I’m guessing for some strange reason it thinks it’s not in Normal mode even though it is. Also, can you fly manually with the DJI Fly app in those areas. The reason I ask is because of number 4 in the help article. Restricted zones can cause this to happen.

Hi Mike. Thanks a lot for your coments.

The place were I have been flighing are not supposed to be restricted zones.

First mapping plan is nearby a big antena which could be disturbing. Not the second place.

I will try to set a bigger buffer for the max. distance flight in DJI Fly and see what it say.

I will also try to observe if there is any GPS disruption

I didn't had the opportunity to flight today. As soon as I will I will let you know.

Thanks to the DL article I finally know what are the good conditions to observe to plan mission.

Good to hear. If you need help in the future and can’t find the answer in the DL support section then just ask. Enjoy… 👍🏼
