Set the exposure time manually when mapping

Daniel Kaiser

Hello,

I would like to fly map missions to create orthophotos.

This has always worked well so far.

But I often had blurry photos in poor lighting conditions.

For example, the drone automatically sets an exposure time of 1/350.

This exposure time is well chosen for still images. However, when I take photos while flying, the photos become blurry in poor light.

For example, I wanted to set the exposure time to 1/800 second.

I bought the Elite plan for this:
I created a checkpoint before the map mission.
For this checkpoint, I set the exposure time to 1/800 seconds as a task.

When I start the mission I get the error message when I reach the checkpoint:
"Shutter speed of the camera rim shell - cannot set this Parameter in this state"

Is the SDK command at all supported on my drone model?

Or could there be other causes for the error message?

Or is this even the right way to shorten the exposure time to avoid blurry photos?

I have a DJI Air 2s.
I bought the Elite plan from Dronelink.
The Dronelink version I have is Beta 5.0.

Thank you for your support!

Hi Daniel. There is no default shutter speed as well as any other camera settings. The cameras settings are stored in the drones firmware so what ever was used the last time you flew it is what it will be set to. You said you set the shutter speed with a command to set it to 1/800. Did you add just the shutter speed command ? Even though you know the camera is not capturing you always need to add a stop capture before any other commands. In this case I’d place a camera reset list with Stop capture, Camera Mode set to photo, then the 1/800 shutter speed. You can add any other supported settings like ISO, White balance etc which is supported. As long as the Air 2S has that shutter speed capability it should work. Only settings which will work with any drone are what the DJI firmware allows. There are many camera settings in the DL app and not all will work on every drone. The other thing you can do is fly higher and/or slow down the drones speed. The Air 2S has a rolling shutter, not mechanical, so motion blur can happen for many reasons. If you want to share the plan I’m sure someone can try to help if you can’t get it figured out.
