DJI Mini 3 Pro - odd & dangerous behaviour with flight plan
Hello community,
after the recent update, our DJI Mini 3 Pro doesn't execute the planned flights anymore and furthermore acts very odd and does very random and dangerous maneuvers.
After starting everything up and the controller in "N"-Mode, dronelink always displays "P-GPS" as it's mode.
When we start a mission, the drone goes up and the start going crazy. Following things have happend:
- random yaw and spinning aroud
- the gimbal goas up and down
- drone goes down without command and could possibly have crashed into the ground.
We are using normal maps to fly over railway construction sites. Signal interference IS NOT the problem. When in manual flight, everything works fine and the drone can keep it's location perfectly. We also tried the same map and location with another drone and it went perfectly fine. A reset of the drone and deinstalling dronelink and dji fly doesn't help either. We have tried every basic solution to get it to work again but nothing helped.
So the only guess is that something is wrong with dronelink or the version of the app. I will add all the information about our mission down below but I hardly believe that they have to do anything with that, as these settings have worked for us plenty of times.
Any help and support is welcome as we need this to work again asap.
Kind regards,
Lukas

Here is the response sent to DJI
Once the DJI mini 3 drone was connected to a PC running Assistant 2, here is the resulting screen.
The operation was performed twice, to ensure that it was not possible to select the flights where the bug occurred. For some unknown reason, the two files generated are not the same size. The LogExport.zip folder has been uploaded.
The list of flights where the drone behaved in an odd and dangerous way is shown below with the times in UTC.
Do you have any software other than Assistant 2 to select for you in EXPORT_FILE... only the flights that caused problems?

Wait and see … 😉
Grazie
The procedure described at this link was implemented on 28 October.

An exceptional weather window has opened for a week until 4 November.
Here is a screenshot for 2 November
As a result, 72 missions were carried out without the ‘dancing drone’ bug appearing:
- 5 missions on 28 October
- 13 missions on 29 October
- 7 missions on 31 October
- 12 missions on 2 November
- 19 missions on 3 November
- 16 missions on 4 November
To be continued ...

¿Me recomendáis descargarme versiones anteriores? ¿o esperar a que salga algún parche para solucionar el problema?
Hardware y software utilizado:
Dronelink DJI 5.0.0 (298) Kernel 5.0.0 // DJI Fly v1.15.4 (1220-oficial) // DJI mini 3 RC-N1 // Redmi note 13 pro - Redmi 9 T
We have said it before, and I will say it again: we are not able to reproduce this issue, and running a previous version of Dronelink is not a long-term solution. If you want to help us find a solution, you need to send the logs to DJI as outlined previously.
Have you been able to try the suggestions described at :
https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/33052990089747/comments/34868761938067 ?
This allows me to wait until a solution is found.
To send the logs to DJI follow the thread :

How do you get around the “dancing drone” bug until it's fixed?
The method depends on one of the three ways in which the bug appears.
In this case, don't touch anything.
However, it's best to limit the number of times you close/launch the Dronelink DJI application to avoid the second case below.
Sometimes the bug appears when starting a mission or, very rarely, during a mission.
The more often the Dronelink DJI application is closed and relaunched, the more frequently the drone starts spinning at the start of a mission.
The solution is to ensure that the Dronelink DJI application is never closed.
Here's an example of a configuration that has proved its worth during at least 73 missions:
- As soon as the bug appears: install the application again on a dedicated smartphone, reusing the APK file in the Download folder; then re-configure the Dronelink DJI application to suit your needs.
- use another smartphone (or tablet) to set firmware parameters with DJI Fly or to use Dronelink (for a DJI mini 2, for example)
- if Android requires updating, Dronelink DJI will need to be reinstalled, as it will have been shut down for the update to take place.
To pilot the drone, it should be placed in manual mode at a height above any obstacle within 15 m (30 ft) of the mission start point. A height of 20 m is generally enough.
When programming the Dronelink mission, we suggest that you place a checkpoint component 30 m (98 ft) before and after the mission, to give yourself time to see if the bug appears.
You're out of luck. This was the situation yours truly experienced from February to mid-March 2024 with the first bug that systematically crashed the application just before the camera's video stream was displayed.

It was only after the application had been installed several times that it would work properly as long as it wasn't closed.
For the “dancing drone” bug, it's proposed to do the same, as there's a similarity with this first bug.
