Airdata UAV getting Spurious Data from Dronelink

Daniel Snyder

Hello,

I've been fighting some sketchy looking flight paths in AirData UAV.  It shows us as per the following graphic, which shows a hatched area instead of a linear waypoint flight path line.

Upon working with Airdata UAV on this error, they advised that Dronelink is the source of this added hatch-lining, which they describe as sending double data.   Here is their support team quote, "The issue you are experiencing, where the flight path stops showing a line and instead fills into a yellow "area," typically occurs due to multiple sync methods being configured for uploading flights to AirData....

Upon review of the impacted flight logs experiencing this bug with the flight path on the flight map, it appears these are flights conducted with DroneLink.

Our engineering team has confirmed this is a known issue with DroneLink flights occasionally sending duplicate data, resulting in the bug you are experiencing with the flight path on the flight map.

Please be assured that our engineering team is actively working to address this. They have acknowledged the issue and are planning to implement a lock mechanism to prevent this bug in the future. However, we do not currently have a timeframe for when this solution will be implemented."

So to get to the point, is DL Aware of the issue and is DL working on a solution with AirData UAV?   If so is there a timeframe for the correction to the data sending issue?   May pilots (like myself) rely on Airdata UAV as their system of flight records, (legal flight logs), and having this corrected is quite urgent.

Many thanks,

Daniel

Never had any problems, with data going from Dronelink to Airdata, but I'm sure if they are aware that both parties are doing the best they can to sort it

Thanks Martin,  Maybe a configuration advisory can be forthcoming from one or both parties till the fix can be made.

I have not heard of this one. Based on their description, the only way this could be possible is if you had multiple accounts in Dronelink all using the same Airdata token, which I don’t think is the case for you right?

I do have an Elite and a Growth account, as well as the AirData UAV link.  Would the work-around be to merge accounts and use 1 token?   I'll ask them to get in touch with DL Support.

I can try removing the Airdata token from one of the accounts.

Seems like a reasonable experiment.  Let's try and I'll test and report back.
