Why doesn't the DL app talk to me?

Tim B

Not a big deal but for whatever reason at no point in mission does the DL app speak to me such as during the countdown, "Mission Accomplished" etc.

I do hear other sounds such as "click" when photos captured and all volume settings on the tablet are set properly.

Are you using a Mavic 3 Enterprise?  Mine doesn't talk to me anymore either.

Same issue when using the RC Pro controller, works fine on my RC-N1.

So does the controller talk to you when using DJI fly, maybe worth checking that some permission setting hasn't changed on the controller

    Hey Martin,

Yes the RC Pro talks when using the DJI Fly app just not while using DL. I mentioned it in an earlier post and I think Jim was taking a look at it.

It's an RC Pro issue.  I have the same.  Talks to me just fine on the RC-N1 / iPad, but no longer talks on the RC Pro.

This is with the Air2 and Android tablet. Again, not a big deal but more of a curiosity. From the response from others it seems different configurations of drone/controller can produce different results.

    :-)

Well, I don't think it would be too much for the app to say:

    LOADING MISSION:
"WOW, this looks like a really cool mission! Can't want to execute it!"

    TAKING OFF:
"Ok, here I go-- see  you in a bit."

    MISSION COMPLETION:
"We did it! Very cool. Hopefully I'll get a chance to fly this mission again!"

Dronelink relies on a text-to-speech API that the version of Android on the RC Pro doesn’t have.

Not sure why your Android tablet doesn’t work since as Jim stated it’s only the RC Pro. All my iPads and iPhones work without issue as Barry as stated. Curious if one of the Android permissions have anything to do with it. Maybe not but you could check to make sure they are all granted as required. If still no audio then Jim may be able to help. I’m assuming the devices volume is turned up.

Checking the permissions & volume is a logical place to start and I did do that. Good to point that out in any event. In a past life I did quite a bit of tech support and I developed a theory that a good portion of issues people had with the tech end of things were related in one way or the other to something not being plugged (or connected).  :)
