Looming Ban of DJI & DJI Whitelabelling clones

Emmanuel Otchere

Jim McAndrew couple of general questions...

1. with this looming ban of DJI, how does it affect the platform, and does that have any implications on those of us using the platform from outside the US? I assume no impact, but just to be sure there are no extended or hidden implications, if any at all.

2. Also on the ongoing inhouse strategy of DJI to mitigate this ban with white labeled drones, and players, any plans to get these brands/models onboard with even better integration? Given that we're already seeing the first "white label" product in the market from Cogito, based on the Air 3 platform - Cogito Specta Air: A Surprising Echo Of The DJI Air 3 Drone (dronexl.co) (and others rumored in the pipeline?)

any other thoughts are welcome.

There isn’t enough information about if, when, or how the ban would be implemented, so it is hard to comment on it, but we will of course attempt to continue offering our services when and where we can.

As with all other drones from other vendors, the two primary considerations are:
    1) SDK support
    2) Enough volume of units

If both of these point are true then we will do our best.

It’s a DJI drone just trying to hide their brand name. Also it’s only available with the RC controller which won’t work anyway. It doesn’t even have a IOS or Android app to use which an RC-N2 controller. Just DJI playing a game to try and circumvent any possible ban by the US or other countries. Last of all DL or any third party app won’t work without DJI creating the SDK so nothing DL or any other third party developer can do until then.
