Accessing telemetry in real time

Štefan Kando
Hi
I am working on a bachelor's thesis on drone security and figuring out a way how to access the drone's telemetry in real time.
With no previous experience with Android development, I can't get DJI SDK to work (Mini 3 Pro) and I am looking for easier ways to do this.
With Dronelink's customisation, is it possible to access the telemetry in real time and send it to a server / is it possible to access the telemetry in real time via an application on a computer?
Thank you very much

You should use the DJI SDK directly.

I am working on it, but it is pain to develop with no previous Android development experience.
I wish there would be an easy way to implement it into an application with many already existing features :/
I saw Dronelink has an SDK, but I suppose it is meant only for enterprise users
What about app intergration? Are the logs continuously created during the flight? If so, is there an option to post them regularly during the flight and then access them from elsewhere?

Hi Štefan Kando. Your question about: What about app intergration? Are the logs continuously created during the flight? If so, is there an option to post them regularly during the flight and then access them from elsewhere?

You can add any one of the flight logging apps as indicated in the link but it works the same as when using DJI app. Once the flight is completed it will then send the fight log to the service you have. I don’t know of any way you can see them during the flight. I use Airdata and I believe it is the best app for the money. I tried Dronelogbook a few years ago but found If to be no where as good or as detailed as Airdata.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your reply
I saw the demo video and yes, it looks nice, but the logs get uploaded only after the drone shuts off the propellers, and for my application I would need more real-time data (but for example approximate drone position every minute would be fine)

Correct, and if all you are looking for is telemetry it isn't necessary or any easier for that matter.

My problem with DJI SDK is that it can't be used alongside other application, which limits my drone's functionality unless I program it myself, which I don't want to, I just need the telemetry somehow

Understood, this is not possible right now.

Yes, I did mention the logs were uploaded after the mission was completed not during flight. Enjoy.

    Hello Štefan Kando
Did you ever manage to achieve accessing live drone telemetry? If so, would it be possible for you to share how you did it? Thank you.

hey @Štefan, did you find any solution for real time telemetry of drone .. I am looking for an out of the box solution to show the flight map of our drone on a map on real time.
