The DL app doesn’t limit, control or effect the max distance. That’s pretty far but regardless there may be a restricted zone in that area or the max distance is set at that value. Check both.
With the dji Fly app I can fly that distance with no issues. There are no airports or any flyzone restrictions.
I am trying to do a time lapse of our new church that is being built. I purchased Dronelink to have waypoint missions so I can fly the exact same route everyday and when the building is finished I can complie all the videos into a time lapse.
When I fly with dronelink manually it wont let me fly past the middle of the church property. When I push the forward stick it just wont go forward past the 1.4 mile mark. When I use waypoints mission in the exact same spot it says drone off course and I have to fly it home manually. I still have full transmitter signal and video signal at that distance and with the dji app It flys past that point with no issues.
because I plan to fly the route frequently I don't want to have to drive out to the property to do it. It is much more convenient to be able to fly it from my backyard, that is why the distance is over a mile. But I have flown three miles out from my backyard well past that spot just not with the dronelink software.
how do I edit the max distance
All settings stick across apps so as I mentioned you need to go into the DJI Fly app and change it there. The DL app does not restrict any zones or GEO fence anything. All of that is controlled by the drones firmware. Hope that helps.
If all settings stick across all apps and the dji Fly app controls the distance I can fly then there has to be an error in the Dronelink software or something. I can fly it in the dji fly app. I am only restricted using dronelink. If this forum cant help is there anyone that gives support at dronelink. If not I guess I will just get a refund and go back to trying to fly as close to the same path as possible with the dji fly app to build my time lapse. Thanks for the responses.
DL staff can assist further and this where they have their support. I am just a pilot which was just trying to help with what I know controls it which is the firmware, not the app. If it is something on their end I’m sure they will take a look. Are you in a EU country ?

So I need to apologize and thank you. You mentioned all the distance setting were controlled by the dji fly app. I got to thinking and the last time I used the dji app it said there was a firmware update. I opted to update after my flight and haven't used it that app since. After I read your last post I logged into the dji app and noticed the max distance was reset to 6000 ft and the max height was back to 400. Since I never changed any settings I never thought they would have changed. Now all I need is a better tablet. Mine keeps saying low performance device and stops in mid mission if it has too many things going on.
Yep. Always need to check and keep the firmware up to date anyway. Glad to hear it’s all good.
