You may want to check and send you logs so DL can take a loan at them. If you could not take control of the drone there may have been something wrong with the drone. First step is the logs. Can you share the plan as well.
Did you attempt to take manual control?
The drone wouldn't respond to manual controls
I am unable to access the log, but here is the mission and last location of drone.
It wouldn’t respond even after completing the instructions in the linked article to take over manual control?
Yeah, no idea what happened
I would assume it was a hardware fault, but I did fly the drone twice on DJI Fly before starting this mission.
Flight logs can be access in several ways but the article explains how to get the from your device. Unless DL can look through the logs it’s anyone’s guess what happened

This a good example of why it's a good idea to use a service like Airdata, to upload logs to, makes it easier to workout what went wrong, also its one of the things the insurance companies ask for in case of a claim (here's hoping you had it insured)
Airdata is a great idea for future flights to log them when using DL. If you get the logs as explained in the link I sent and you can import it into Airdata which will give you an idea of what happened. A lot of great info in Airdata. I believe a free account gives 200 flights and you can upgrade to a better plan to keep more logs.
