If you want to use the Dynamic Home-point feature in a plan then it is only available in a professional plan. If you have a professional plan then just enable it in your planned mission and it will update every 5 seconds. What is your application where you are needing to update it ?
Great point, and thank you! Forgot to mention this question pertains to an unplanned flight.
You can map one of the RC buttons to set the home point in the dashboard settings already.
I’m guessing it’s utilizing Dynamic Home-Point as with an preplanned mission when enabled. Will this work with both a Professional and Hobbyist plan ?
Dynamic home point is a different feature. Customizable RC buttons is a feature available in Premium and up.
Ok Jim. Still learning. DJI Fly app doesn’t have this so I’m sure it’s your software. You can change it but takes work and only with a GPS device. Am I correct that you will need a GPS as well to utilize this just like when using follow mode.
Here's a use case: I am an architect and often fly a high altitude mission; I then supplement with a lot of lower elevation photos that are manually flown and captured.
When I was taking some of these low elevation photos which were under a tree canopy, when the battery got low, the drone went into RTH and wouldn't respond to the pause button. Unfortunately, resulted in a crash as it flew up into the canopy.
Another instance is when I was on a very large site (10 ac) and taking photos of a structure far from my takeoff point; drone flew all the way back to home point for a battery change vs dynamically updating to my location since mission was "done".
Understood Peter. You should be able to take control of the drone at any time as there are three ways and is very easy and quick. If the pause button didn’t work then there are two other ways. Pause on screen and controller mode switch. Enjoy.
