Can''t find or access com.dronelink folder

Matt Kilgore

I've searched through the phone multiple times, restarted it, restarted my computer, etc. and I can not find the folder that the logs get stored in. Given I recently had a fly away event I was hoping to retrieve the logs to find the drone, but I can't even find the folder.

Notably I followed the instructions from https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052025254-Does-Dronelink-generate-flight-logs#heading-2 and no luck. I'm running a Pixel 8 Pro with Android 14 if that helps any.

The Android I’m not sure about because I don’t use any but that article should be correct and work once the device is connected. I use Airdata for all my flight logging which can be set up in the Web app and then once the mission is completed the logs are sent. Plus Airdata has a ton of features which can be used to access all sorts of information, data, logs etc. It’s very easy to look through the flight logs without any jumping through hoops. Something to consider for future flights. You can try a limited free version which will give you 100 active flights and then upgrade to a better plan if you like it. Also realize even though you can retrieve the flight logs as explained in that article, when using the DL app all those flights are not logged in the DJI App. So using a flight logging service is a good way to have all fight logs in one place. Also the logs will only show the last location when it was connected. If you go into the web app and access that flown mission it should show the last recorded point of the drone before it disconnected on the map which will give you a general idea. Good luck.

Android 12 onwards limits access to the Android/data folder. There used to be ways to get around that in Android 12 and 13, but that seems to have been patched in Android 14.

It's still possible to access the data folder on Android 14 using an app named Shizuku, but it's not particularly user-friendly. More details here: https://folderv.com/2023/11/24/access-Android-data-and-Android-obb-on-Android-14/
