Camera transmission freeze 2024 - DJI Mini SE

Nik Fam

Camera transmission feed works for 3 sec and then stops. Changing camera mode restores the live feed for 3 more sec. Waypoints missions or manual control of the drone through the dronelink app are functioning but no photos or videos are saved. In contrast DJI app works fine. Classic troubleshooting (e.g. fresh install, reopen DJI app and then force close, try the app on another iPhone) did not help.

This particular bug was raised again in 2022 but for Android (post: " Camera transmission freeze - DJI Mini SE) but noone submitted any workaround or fix which makes me wonder.. Is it a known problem despite the fact that Dronelink is advertised to support Mini SE???

Dronelink version 4.8.3 (280) , Kernel 4.8.1

iPhone 13, IOS 17.4

Hi Nik Fam. That production version when using an Apple device has live feed issues as well as the path not showing up on the maps when switching back and forth as well. It’s pilots choice but the new 4.9.0 Beta doesn’t have theses issues which is what I always use with my iPads and it’s been flawless. I tested that same 4.8.3 (280) production version about a week ago and I had the same issues. DL mentioned the 4.9.0 will be released into production in a few weeks maybe less but you can join the Beta testing if you want. Make sure you click on the link for IOS Beta app version. Do not download the Apple TestFlight app directly from the Apple app store because it will ask you for Redeem code which DL doesn’t supply. Also the drone is supported by DL because DJI built the SDK for it which is why it connects and works. This doesn’t mean it will always be completely flawless without small bugs on occasions. I commented on a thread recently which addressed this issue when using any IOS device and how to fix it this. There are a lot of answer out there and I know it may take a bit time to search bit one way or another the answers are usually available. As always you can always post a new question here with great support. Click on the link below to correct the issue.

Thank you Mike for your quick response. I was curious so I tested the beta it already. However for me the video feed is also problematic with the beta. In detail, I got video feed only when actively recording video! When I stop recording feed freezes again. Same with photos.. If I take a single photo then live feed is restored for a few seconds and then freezes again.

Check the thread I just posted about the live feed issues. There is a good amount of information in that thread regarding these issues. I know the version 4.9.0 (282) has all worked perfectly for me with my iPad so for now you can test that and see if it works as it should. Otherwise you may just try unplugging the cable from the Phone and plug it back in as my post says and see if the live feed works. It did for me and the live feed was working on all those missions I flew. If the live feed is working but freezing up then I have no idea since my iPad has had no issues with it freezing. It was a good amount of testing and bugs are normal but I’m confident DL will figure it out. Also are using a IOS Beta IOS 17.4 as the most current version for my iPad is 17.3.

Also I forgot to address the other issues you mentioned about no video or photos being saved. DL does not control this as it only triggers the video or photo captures which is always stored in the drone. I don’t think the Mini SE has internal storage so if not it should all be on the SD card. Check the DJI Fly app and make sure it’s all set up correctly as this is all controlled by the drones firmware. If nothing is on the SD card then I’d format it and try again. It should be a V30 SD card as well for best read and write speeds.
