Does Dronelink Premium take more pictures for pano?

Joel Stolarski

Back into doing some 3d scanning.

Polycam app for Iphone requires lots of pictures to do an accurate stitch.

Have Basic plan and the pano only does 27.

Thinking of upgrading to Premium.

I'm not sure you are comparing like for like.  A pano is for 360 photos.  It's not really relevant for 3d scanning.

That said, you can create your own plans that do whatever you want.  You don't have to only use the provided ones.

Hi Joel. No. Doesn’t matter where it’s a Hobbyist or Professional plan the component is the same. It is all you really need and the iPhone app may be capturing more because it needs more photos for enough overlap based on that camera. The bottom line is all you need is enough photos with enough overlap to get the panorama. More doesn’t necessarily make it better for stitching. Also if you want more control of the component you can use the DL public Repo “360 Photo” component. That one actually takes a couple less photos but still enough to stitch a Panorama. You can add or change anything including setting up the camera with manual exposure instead of auto exposure. Basically a completely editable component which you can add more rows and set it up for more photos to get more overlapping if you know how. Good luck.

Oh boy, sorry guys, I was having a really bad senior moment. Pano is panorama. What I meant is a circular picture around something like a house or building or another objects. Getting back to flying the drone after an absence. Since I've been playing with the scanning apps, I thought about using my mini for some bigger objects.

lol. No biggie as I understand about senior moments. You may want to use an Orbit component to capture photos. I’m sure there are others who could probably answer that better. Otherwise you can use either the Pano or 360 Photo component to create a Pano or possibly a complete 360° sphere which you can scroll around and zoom in. Since I don’t do any stitching I just use the DJI Fly app to do any of these type of functions because it process them into any type I want and very quick. Much, much easier. Enjoy.
