Importing surveyed building footprint kml for facade mission
Good morning,
I have run into an issue with the precision of the Google Earth and Dronelink maps when planning a facade mission. As a solution I've surveyed the corners of the buildings and created very precise .kml files for the footprint of the buildings in Autodesk Civil 3d. When imported into Google Earth, these files work just fine. However, i have not been able to import the files into Dronelink. For the large property map i had no issues with this function. Is there a size limit for the kml/kmz files, and is there a workaround?

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for. It don’t use this feature but it may be due to you using the Autodesk then importing into Google Earth. As far as I know it will only import a KML created in Google Earth’s so if you set it up there and import into DL it should work. If it can be done the way you created it in Autodesk then someone else may know if it will. Just remembered about the On the Fly Facade missions you can use as well which can give you a lot more precision. This may be something to look at as well.

If you can provide an example KML file we can tell you for sure.
Hello ,
Thank you for the reply's. I have found a workaround for this by importing the kml's into Google Earth (GE) and tracing them with the polygon tool. Once saved in GE, I was able to import into DL without any issues. Again, it was imported as a map and had to be traced with the facade plan. I've tried uploading the files but they are too big.
