Write text in the sky

Johan Pol

Is it possible to program DroneLink, so my DJI Mini 2 will write some text/word in the sky which I can capture in the dark with my camera?

By programming waypoints I would say.
    1 specific WP by letter.

Vertical WP I don't know how to do.

You’re talking about light painting and It would be difficult to spell out something. It could be done but you would need to capture from directly underneath. I created several plans and I actually ran a few a long time ago just for fun. I didn’t do any light painting I just ran them during daytime to see how they would work and look when accomplished. I use Airdata and the accomplished missions looked good overall just like the plan. Only issue is you would need to set it up in reverse so it is correct from underneath or do it in post. I can tell you I spent a lot of hours on each plan to get it looking correct over several weeks on and off. I’ve done both block print and cursive writing plans and both took a lot of work. Seems like it would take a lot of work with a good amount of trial and error. Long exposures can be tough and in the end it probably won’t look good. This mission took about 13 minutes to run so even if you did something much smaller it could take at least several minutes or more which would be a very long exposure and it probably difficult to look good. You can search the internet for ideas from some professional videographers to see who If any actually fly a drone to spell out something. Most are just Orbits, Halos etc. Enjoy.
