I LOST MY DRONE WITH THE DRONELINK APP

My drone finished the mission and lost telemetry and didn't return to homepoint and I can't open the useless LOG file of this app, it's 1400 dollars for a drone and you don't have a center to communicate with

You’re not obliged to program rth after the mission, notably due to potential obstacles.
Personally I prefer to manage end of flight manually.
I am surprised that you cannot exploit the log data. Don't you use airdata or another service to analyse your flights ?

the drone simply lost telemetry, I can't open the file in AIRDATA

What other free service can I access?

Normally you should be able to see all the data until the loss of telemetry. I already had a crash with DL (my bad), and was able to find the root cause thanks to Airdata. I do not know other free service providers.

Hi Leandro ricardo de nadai. Regardless if using DL app or DJI app the drone performs the same regarding action on disconnect. Unless you changed the disconnect state to Hover or Auto Land in the DJI app it is defaulted to RTH on disconnect. That sounds like what may have happened if as you said, the drone lost telemetry. So the drone should have returned as the Home-Point is stored on the drone so it can return when it disconnects from controller. Unless it ran into an obstacle. With that said, maybe I can help with how to use Airdata. If you go into that Airdata flight and select the “CSV” file it will show the last recorded coordinates. Just scroll to the bottom and write those down or take a screen shot of those. Also you can select the “Notification” tab and then click on “HD Flight Player” and scroll to the end of the flight. This will show the drones last location on the map as indicated by the drone Arrow icon. Looking at the map in conjunction with the actual coordinates may get you close to where it was last. Hope this helps and you can find it. Good luck.

    Hello Mike

I managed to find my Drone, I paid for a more complete version of Dronelink and I was able to open the log file, strangely it basically landed at the coordinate that lost telemetry, I couldn't connect either through dronelink, much less through DJI FLY, it's worth mentioning that in both applications are scheduled to return to base, something that didn't happen...

Despite the scare, I managed to find it, however I am surprised by the cost of the application showing this type of behavior in which DJI will not be able to reimburse me if I lose the Drone

I don't understand why he activated the P - GPS mode

Maybe you cancelled the RTH inadvertently by pressing either Pause or RTH button.
    Don't you remember ?

I don't remember doing this, even so, there is no reason to lose telemetry. Does not agree?

P-GPS means it was using satellites which is normal but usually it’s logged on take-of. Just a thought but if it did finish the mission as you said just before disconnection it is possible it was set to auto-land or hover. If so it will either land right away or land after hovering until the low battery triggers it to auto land. Check the plan and make sure it was set to RTH on mission completion, not hover or auto-land. Also check the DJI app and make sure disconnect state was set to RTH. One of them is more then likely the reason why it didn’t return and just landed. DL is set by default to RTH on completion and I think the DJI app is the same for RTH state. Makes sense for safety reason so you don’t lose it.

I still not understand your "loss of telemetry" chronology.
If you lost telemetry after the supposed crash, that is normal.

If you lost telemetry before the crash, this is not normal. Never saw Dronelink having an impact on data transmission from the drone to the RC.
As said by Mike, normally loss of telemetry leads to RTH by design.

This an interesting case. Can you share both the plan and airdata recordings ?

The drone was simply returning to the homepoint and cut the connection with the controller. I couldn't operate it manually, it simply disconnected and the drone didn't return to homepoint

A few things to think about:

    • The RTH function is controlled by the DJI firmware, not Dronelink.  Once initiated it is DJI software that is being used.
    • Losing telemetry could happen for many reasons.  E.g. the RTH path puts a large obstacle (trees, hills, building, etc.) between you and the drone
    • If the drone is still active, you have a good chance of reconnecting and then using the DJI Find my drone feature to find your drone - this video shows you how https://youtu.be/FOCNwsFn7Mc

If you really want to find out what happened - post a link to the mission (viewer only) and a link to the log files in Airdata.  Both systems have features that allow easy sharing.  Maybe someone will have the time to review it and provide some answers.

At least you got it back. 👍🏼 Did you check the disconnect state in the DJI app ? I am curious to see end of the Airdara log and CSV File. I think it lost connection and hovered at coordinates until battery got low and landed. Curious to see if it shows that command near end. Good to hear you found it though. Good luck.

    Sure.
Depending on battery SoC, RTH can be aborted, drone will land at the same location.

I am not an expert in AIR DATA, however I believe that here is the flight link.

    I believe it is correct!

Regarding flight conditions, the Drone had enough battery to return to base, around 40%

Leandro ricardo de nadai. I just thought of something and I’m curious if you have a professional plan which has Dynamic Home-Point ability. If so was it enabled in your plan ?
