Using KMZ Files for DJI Air 3

Dewald Hattingh

I recently discovered I can import flightpaths from Flighthub 2 using the KMZ file, which works perfectly.

Is it possible to do mapping paths or pre planed flight paths, export them as .kmz files, and import them onto the RC2 that DJI Air 3 uses?

This is not supported at this time. Can you provide one of the KMZ files?

I just got the Air 3 and I was curious about this capability myself. Not sure if will be the same as the Mavic 3 but found these after searching around on a DJI Mavic Forum. It may be something to look at since it seems to be capable. Also according to the post the DJI Waypoints uses Bézier curves so it may work better then using Litchi which doesn’t have that capability. Obviously very new but can’t hurt to try and test.

I purchased the Air 3 a couple weeks ago and I’ve been experimenting with the Litchi conversion tool on a few flown waypoints missions. I got the KMZ file to convert into a CSV file then into DL. You asked to see a KMZ file so I made one up and I’m sending it to you. For me at this time it’s to much to go through since creating the waypoints in the DJI Fly app is so easy and it can be done without even connecting the drone. I do like the function and I must say I’m impressed with how it works overall. My understanding is the onboard capability is the same as the Mavic 3 and when setting up the mission it even gives the ability to select continuing the mission even if it disconnects. If you are still interested.
