Samsung S9+ and A73 with the Mini 3 in beta using RC-N1

Alexander Harding

Hi there All,

I have done a bit of testing as I want to see the feasibility of using the mini 3 for façade inspections.

I tried using the Samsung S9+ and the Samsung A73 with the DJI RC- N1.

There where a few weird issues. On Friday I bought the elite package(so i would have access to facade inspections) and then tried setting the drone up. it didn't work and so Yesterday morning I spent some time going through the website trying to figure out how to get the app to display the video feed and the telemetry data. It would not so I deleted the app and re installed it (multiple times) and I then changed to the beta mode (it took me too long to figure out how to get into beta mode for this app- my fault though-) at which point i again removed and reinstalled the app with no success. i then read through here again and could need seem to get it to work. This morning I tried it again and now I don't know why it decided to work for some reason. However both devices after deleting again and reinstalling I was able to get video feed in the app but it was not possible to use any of the control functions or see any telemetry data.

Please could you let me know if this is a user error or if the devices are just not compatible. ( should have a S23U to test on from Tuesday)

Update, I continued reading and tried to download the for android modern devices apk on the website and it worked. I was able to get the telemetry and video feed. However the app did crash about a dozen times at very random intervals. Twice it crashed while just working on the planned mission a few times it crashed while doing the mission and then it also crashed while having the app open and just manually flying between mission sites.

Thank you in advance

The correct app is the “Dronelink DJI” App and it is still Beta. (Not Dronelink) The app crashes have been reported and you can look through the Beta threads section to read a ton of information on that. On planning missions I’d suggest using a PC so you won’t have the crashes going through the DL app. Much easier with a larger screen anyway and you can use either Firefox, Edge, Chrome or Safari. Some Android devices have more issues then others but there’s really no way to know exactly how each will work since there are tons of Android OS based devices. All you can do is be patient and wait until it gets fixed. Hopefully…. Enjoy.
