Reference point vs starting point

I am using DL for 2 years, and tested main of the hobbyist features. However I am now asking myself the following question : why a reference point and a starting point for each component ? In other words, isn´t a starting point enough ? Knowing that the drone will reach both sequentially. Sure there is a good reason that I am not able to guess. Rgds,

The reference point for components serves two purposes:

    1. It provides a place to put the map pin when browsing for a component to open on the map
    2. It provides a way for the code to define other elements in the component (such as waypoints or points of interest) relative to something, so when it is imported into another component, all the elements can be imported relative to where it has been inserted into the other component.
