Mini 3, RC-N1, Samsung S21, Kernel 4.7.0 (260)
Disclaimer:
Before I see the message I see all the time, I understand the Samsung S21 is not supported in this beta at the moment due to having video issues. However I have a work around for this which I will explain below.
Setup Info:
- Samsung S21
- Android 12 (One UI 4.1) - I have been avoiding an update for a while
- RC-N1
- DJI MINI 3 (NOT THE PRO)
- Kernel 4.7.0(260)
I have been using the dronelink Beta for around 2 days and have completed 5 successful operations with crashes only happening in the first few.
Minimising crashes
To minimise the dronelink app crashing I did the following things which appeared to help where I ran a 28 minute operation today with no crashes (hyperlapse of a sunset) and a 25 minute operation yesterday with also no crashes
- Turning off Wi-Fi/Bluetooth - I have no idea why but turning off Wi-Fi/BT on my phone made the crashes decrease slightly, I believe for whatever reason the weak signal of my Wi-Fi (I have an outdoor AP) and my phone attempting to connect it was causing some crashes.
- Portrait mode (and locking orientation) - I found when running longer operations 10+ minutes that running in Portrait mode for whatever reason turned my crashes to be non existent. This may be annoying when using the controller but when you're running something using waypoints it doesn't really matter as long you have VLOS. When in landscape mode I would have frequent crashes, and if my orientation wasn't locked and it switched I would have even more crashes with operations only lasting 2 minutes if I accidentally turned my phone the wrong way.
- Just not touching the controller - I got a bit superstitious with my luck and resorted to not touching the controller and putting it on the ground. Probably did nothing but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Video Issues:
As we are all aware S21 and various Pixel devices have a video issue. I also found this with sometimes starting up dronelink and having no video or just a single stuck frame. I found a workaround which works flawlessly for me so in the event anyone else wants to use the dronelink app feel free to use it (it may or may not work for you)
- Turn on drone and controller, allow them to connect as normal
- Open dronelink
- Go to the flying page in dronelink and you'll see your broken feed (no frames, or stuck frame)
- Close the dronelink app (including in the app drawer)
- Open DJI Fly app and Go fly, you will see your camera feed running fine
- Close the DJI Fly app (including in the app drawer)
- Open dronelink
- Go to the flying page and you will find the feed working as intended and being buttery smooth!
*No idea why this works but it does and I have been able to replicate it every single time when going to fly my drone with dronelink.
Other bugs after workarounds and keeping my phone portrait:
- Dronelink for some reason managed to get my camera to not respond to any camera commands (command unknown) and even not respond in the DJI fly app. A quick restart of my drone fixed this and it has only happened once.
- Recording video (after the video workaround) stops the feed again, as soon as I stop recording the feed continues as normal.
Any other things I find along the way I'll just post here.

Does your S21 work well with the latest beta (266)?
I haven't tried it yet. I have driven up to Scotland to get some good shots so I'll give it a try tomorrow.
Unfortunately I could not get past the initialising DJI SDK?
Tracking this one here:

Silly me needed to force stop DJI Fly... as soon as I did that it got past the initialising. Will try a map tomorrow.
