Mini 3 pro high-res interval photos

Lars Mathiasen

Hi. I can't find any documentation on “Camera Photo Interval”. I tried it in many ways in relation to the “Camera Photo Type -> High Resolution” but it only worked with the Hover component in this straight-up mission and only for normal photos 12MP in Mini 3 Pro.

Q: So how do I interval shoot in high res while hovering?

The mission below worked in the sim but failed on the interval in real-life flight and aborted the mission.

Q: Where is the documentation for the interval command?

What I got to work in the mission, was by removing the interval command but I had no intervals as I wanted. Thought about continue using wait but I thought that there might be a better way.

You can't capture High Resolution photos with intervalometer (DJI limitation). High Resolution photos have to be triggered, which is what the map component does when you select that option (doesn't use interval photos).

Ok. Can I use “wait” and then trigger with “Camera Start Capture”?👀

    (easy) way

If you are trying to do mapping, I disagree. The easiest way is to just select High Resolution for the photo type in the map component.

Understood, so maybe better stated as "the cheapest way that requires much more effort".

I’m not trying to do waypoints or mapping. I just wanted to park my drone at 50 m and take 4-5 high res photos 10 sec between and then do the same at 100m. I got it all to work but the time between photos. I get Patrick's example and I get you, Jim. I just wanted to know if there was a way to do this: photo high res -> wait 10 sec -> photo high res and so on.

I haven't tried the wait command yet as you stated Jim that I can't take high-res interval photos with a DJI drone. It works in the sim though. Look at the screen dump. But will it work in the mini 3 pro? Tomorrow will reveal.

Lars. DL does not allow 48MP (high res) photo intervals. If it is not capable of performing any function in the DJI App then it won’t work in DL. The mission preview may show it but the drones firmware will not allow it. No different than setting intervals to 8 seconds which the drone is not capable of but mission preview may indicate it does. The Web app has no idea of what drone it is it what it is actually capable of.

Yep. Only way to take multiple single shots. 👍🏼

I tried the wait option - it just works. This is a easy way to make a hyper lapse like effect if one wants to. I use it to shoot the sunset nearly each evening from the same location.

I always use the DJI Fly app for any hyper-lapse. So much quicker and the video is done all through the app instantly so no stitching. Understand if some want to do all the work though. Enjoy.
