Mavic 3M - Multispectral - support

Marco Marani
The only info I found about dronelink support of DJI Mavic 3M is that it is “not tested”. It is a 2022 document. Any news about how it works and if there are 2023 updates?

Ok. Thank you. Does it mean that flight planning may work, but has not been tested? Or does it mean mavic 3M is not supported altogether?

     flight planning may work

Flight planning is not drone dependent - you can do it in a web browser without being connected to any drone and it will always just work.

Or does it mean mavic 3M is not supported altogether

It means we don't have a M3M and have not tested it, but the DJI MSDK claims to support it, so it will probably connect and probably even be able to fly just fine with virtual stick, but you will likely run into issues when using any of the functionality that is specific to the multi-spectral aspect of the drone.

Thank you. Yes, the point of the question was knowing whether multispectral data could be acquired as a part of the planned flight. Will try and see if it works...

I've flown a handful of missions with  a mavic 3M in dronelink and not had any issues with the flight.

The camera settings on the other hand are unclear, it's not a 3E it's not a wide angle and it's not thermal.  So not sure just how I am meant to setup the camera.  Still experimenting.

You can select custom and put in the lens information if you have it. If you have the info and post it here, we can add it to the drop down.

i’ve used dronelink roughly 15 or 20 times with my mavic 3m using terrain follow heavily given my surroundings. I ALWAYS preview the mission paying attention to the altitude to make sure it makes sense but have never had an issue.
Camera settings as described by dronelink above… custom… and manual entry, then save it.

The Lens information as mentioned above is for the cameras (Lens focal length) and (sensor size for width and height.) That is what will be needed for entering custom camera settings for a mapping component in order to work properly.
