Adjusting Mavic 3E Camera Settings for Mapping

Jacob Bongers

Hello,

I used a Mavic 3E to fly a Dronelink mission, and it worked really well. I noticed that it's unclear whether certain critical settings (mechanical shutter, dewarping, and lock gimbal while shooting) are enabled. Therefore, I put in commands that enable mechanical shutter, turn off dewarping, and lock the gimbal while shooting, before the mission starts. I noticed in the mission preview, however, that the gimbal is unlocked prior to moving the camera 90 degrees. Is the gimbal then locked while shooting afterwards? Is there a way of issuing a command to lock the gimbal after the gimbal is positioned 90 degrees for shooting? Any insights would be appreciated!

Best,

Jacob

Dronelink doesn't change these settings unless you add commands to your mission plan, as it seems you have done. You can test if these commands are working by running a command only mission (the drone won't even take off) and then checking if the values were changed in the DJI Pilot UI. If there are specific commands / settings that should be working but aren't please report it here.

Thanks for your response Jim! Just a quick follow up - are you then saying that Dronelink mirrors the settings in the DJI Pilot 2 app?

Most of the settings in the apps are actually just setting the values in the drone’s firmware, which means they carry over between all apps.
