Feedback after a few test flights

Andrew Gleave

Hi, I have been testing the beta software out with my DJI Mini 3 Pro, RC-N1 with an Honor 70 running Android 12 (Snapdragon 778G Plus with 8GB ram). This phone I got specifically to be able to use with the drone so only has DJI Fly and Dronelink installed.

First flight plan: I had about a 7 minute flight planned, consisting of a waypoint componment with 3 waypoints, and 2 POI's. After the waypoint componment it then had a 360 photo componment, followed by another waypoint componment with 2 waypoints and 1 POI.

On my initial attempt of this it started making its way to the first waypoint, but the app crashed before reaching the first waypoint. I reloaded the app and resumed, this time it continued and made it to the first waypoint componment, it then completed this componment perfectly. However after that componment it started making its way to the 360 photo location and the app crashed again, I reloaded and resumed, it went back a little bit and resumed, but then the app crashed again. At this point i manually flew the drone back.

After getting back home and looking on the forum, I noticed people saying about force closing the DJI Fly app, I hadnt done that, so the next day I went back and did the same again, except this time made sure i force closed the DJI Fly app. However I had exactly the same issue where the app crashed multiple times, appeared to always be before the first waypoint or in between componments.

Second flight plan: I decided to make another flight plan for a different location, one that I could drive to, the first one involved an hour walk, so wanted something a bit more convenitent. I wanted to test multiple plans so made a much shorter one, just over a minute long. I made 4 plans, starting simple, then adding more and more to it.

  1. Single waypoint componment with 8 waypoints
  2. Exactly the same waypoint componment but with 1 POI
  3. Same as above but with 2 POI's
  4. Same as above but with 2 photo componments

During the 4 flight plans, the app didn't crash once and it flew a expected. I am going to try and make some more flight plans today and do another test tomorrow.

Another issue I have noticed is it is not uploading the flight log to Airdata, I have done a manual upload instead, if I upload the txt file Airdata doesnt show any flight information, but does show which drone, battery and app was being used, however if I upload the dat file to Airdata it shows the flight data but is unable to show any data with regards to which drone, battery and app was being used.
