Hey guys!
I would like to know if after converting a mapping mission to DJI Waypoints I can download the KMZ in the format accepted by DJI drones that have the waypoints function?

    Hello,

As a devoted Dronelink fan, I’ve been frustrated that I can’t fully utilize it with my DJI Air 3. Recently, I discovered a workaround using FlightHub II: I created a mission, downloaded the .KMZ file, and uploaded it to the DJI Fly app via the RCII controller. The mission components transferred successfully, with unsupported actions flagged during the upload process. The Fly app even allowed me to edit the mission.

However, despite the green "Go" button indicating readiness, the mission wouldn’t execute—disappointing, to say the least.

Fast-forward to two months ago: After posting about this issue on a blog, I was fortunate to connect with someone who created a "converter" for me. It works brilliantly! That said, using FlightHub II is still frustrating due to its complexity. Moreover, only two of the four available missions allow altitude quantification, limiting their functionality.

This brings me to my main question: If websites like Waypoint Maps, Maps Made Easy, and Pixpro can create "Convert to DJI Fly" tools, why can’t Dronelink do the same? If an individual developer, not sure, Aussie, and Blog Guru can figure this out, surely the Dronelink team could implement a similar feature.

I deeply miss using the Dronelink app for both mission planning and flying. Its intuitive interface, layout, speed, and overall user experience are unmatched. Even if I had to convert a Dronelink mission to upload it via RCII, I’d gladly take that over my current workaround. I’ve already adapted to the “load file two-step” process—it’s second nature now (easier now using the WPM uploader full-time...easy peazy).

Here’s hoping Dronelink can step up to address this gap. It would mean the world to users like me.

    Thanks for listening!

    Here's another DJI Mini 4 Pro/ RC2 example

I've saved some unique values on the RC2 for waypoints 1 - 3 if it helps:-

    Waypoint 1, cameraaction_none, alt_30m, speed_2ms,heading_180,gimbal_-46,zoom_2.6,hover_4sec

    Waypoint 2, cameraction_takephoto,alt_28.86m,speed_4.5ms,heading_157,gimbal_-35,zoom_manual,hover_12sec

    Waypoint 3, cameraaction_takephoto,alt_28.19m, speed_6.3ms, heading_-135, gimbal_+13, zoom_auto, hover_14seconds

An exportable KMZ file is all that is needed for this to work with the Air3S.  I export KMZs from Map Pilot Pro, upload them into the waypoints file in my RC and it executes fine.  This is not science beyond Dronelink's grasp, I'm quite sure the reason this is not an option is something else.

I have access to the beta version and it's working!

As soon as I can find some free time I'll put a video tutorial together covering it.

This feature is now on production (just refresh https://app.dronelink.com/).

To be clear, it requires the Elite minimum, but it also depends on which drone you select during the export process. In other words, you have to have a plan level that supports the drone you select. For example: selecting an enterprise drone requires the Growth plan.

Top, but I thought it would be great that Enterprise series will also in a one payment elite plan. ;-) Many hobbiest also own a enterprise drone.

Not going to happen, this feature cost way too much to develop and we will likely lose money on it as is.

This is great!  Note that I was about to go with other software, and would have, had I not searched for and found this discussion.  You might want to mention this feature more predominantly.  It also contradicts some of your FAQ and other questions.

Nathan Allan. If there is something that contradicts then I’d share it so Jim can look at it and maybe correct it. I haven’t seen anything but maybe there is something I missed.
