Beta Mini 3 pro user cant find the mix of settings and hardware to start testing

Andy Clay

I havent had nay luck getting the beta version to work at all with my mini 3 pro. I know the firmware is up-to-date. So is the beta version of Dronelink on my android. I'm thnking its some comination of settings on the drone, setting on the phone that is the problem. Here is the hardware I have at my dispaosal. If anyone is using a combination that I have please let me know what you did and what setting needed to be turned on and turned off.

Mini 3 pro

Samsung s10

Currently has beta drone link app and production dji fly installed)

Samsung s21

Currently has beta drone link app and production dji fly installed)

dji Rc (not pro) controller

djiRC-N1 controller

Once I get this to run then I can do incremental changes and help with the testing. Thanks in advance

A couple links to check depending on what device you will be using. Whichever way you decide to use it make sure you allow all of the permissions which Android devices have.

I inadvertently installed the latest 64 bit drone link beta version on my pixel 7 Pro and it would not connect. I installed it because my phone is 64 bit. Installed the 32 bit app and works fine.

I also had issues binding the N1 controller to the mini 3 pro because I kept stupidly selecting the mini 3 drone image as it is the first one displayed and looks right. Eventually I realised the Mini 3 PRO  is further along the list. ( I usually fly with RC controller & bought a 2nd hand RC-N1 just so I could use drone link)

What specific issue are you having? It doesn’t “work” is a bit vague.

When I try to link my mini 3 pro to the dronelink app running on my Samsung S10 it never finds the mini 3 pro. I tried holding the power button in on the drone to force pairing like DJI says to do with their controllers and still no luck.

If it connects with the DJIFly app it is bound. So it should not need re binding by pressing the connect menu in dronelink. So seems the issue is the app is not seeing the controller while your controller is actually connected to the mini3 pro.

Andy. Did you install the correct one for your device and did you make sure you granted all permissions As describe in the links. Also once you use pair the RC-N1 controller using the DJI Fly app to your drone you should not need to do it with DL. Is it all working correctly with the DJI app ? If so then it may be either the incorrect Android APK or you missed all the permissions.

First off thanks to everyone who has taken the time to try and help.

Navigating through all the hardware, settings, and beta versions variables and finding the correct combination is likely my problem. It's not a permission problem as I had checked that.

I was hoping someone has already been successful using some combination of the hardware I listed and then give me the exact recipe they used to make this work.

It appears from the postings that using a s21 will not work . If that's correct then we have narrowed down to me needing to use my S10.

There was also the comment that a 32bit installer version is needed.

Way to many combinations to expect trial and error to find the correct mix that will work for me. I'm really hoping there is someone who has already been successful with a hardware combination that I have that can share the exact recipe they used to be successful

S21 + N1 works for us with this APK (the link next to Dronelink DJI in this article). What is not working with your S21?

I connect the n1 to the s21. I make sure the dji app is not listed as an open app. I open the dronelink beta app, I turn on the N1, i turn on the mini 3 pro and wait for both to settle. I then try to tell the app to connect to drone and it can never find it.

Are there some settings I have to first turn on or turn off in the drone using the fly app before I try using the dronelink app?

If you mean you are trying to pair the RC to the drone, you can do this in DJI Fly and it will carry over to Dronelink.

Hi Andy, had similar problems but eventually sorted it with the help of other posts. I use the RC-1N with the Samsung s10 and was reluctant to give full permissions on my everyday phone. However it might help you if you read my posts, final one is Beta version 244 for mini 3 pro unable to take control.
I eventually found I needed to:

Give full permissions on both the Dronelink app and the DJI fly app.

Turn off APAS in the DJI fly app and then close the app to stop it running in the background.

Set the controller to Normal flight speed.

For security I run a VPN but have to turn this off for the Wi-Fi link to connect.

I have not tried the latest beta versions yet as I am waiting for a Samsung s20+ which I will use solely for the drone.

    Hopefully this information may help

Guys, thanks for all the help. As of this morning I was now able to link my s21 to the drone. So later today I'll head to a safe location and actually do some test flights. Thanks to everyone for helping me get over this initial hump
