Beta version 244 for mini 3 pro unable to take control
Updated to version 244 and tested on both Samsung s7 and s10 giving full permissions on both for DJI fly and dronelink DJI. I now get the full camera view and the mission starts and the drone takes off and hovers but then get the message ‘unable to take control’ and the controller switches to manual flight.

Beta 4.5.0 (244) Kernel 4.5.0
Same experience on Samsung A22 5G. Switched to DJi fly, disabled APAS and returned to DL dji.
Full camera view, mission loaded and executed.
Thank you for that, I will give it a try later
Hi, many thanks for your message. I turned off the APAS and tried to fly it again on my s10 and got the same message. However I then realised that I had not turned off my VPN as well. On trying again I got the message to switch to normal mode on the controller from cine and it took off and flew the mission. I then tried the s7 which I have used regularly for normal flight on the original mini, mini 2 and mini 3 pro and despite getting a message regarding the age of the device and possibly not functioning correctly, it launched and flew the mission correctly.
So, lesson learned, turn off APAS which is a shame as the drone becomes vulnerable to trees and other objects on a mission. Turn off a VPN if running one (quite obvious really) and set the flight mode to normal.
I recently found out that DJI have launched pre planned waypoint missions for the Mavic 3 on the RC controller and watching a YouTube video demonstrating this, it can also use the APAS system during the mission. Clearly the Mavic 3 is a more powerful drone but it would be good if Dronelink could activate APAS on the mini 3 pro at some point if at all possible.
My understanding is DJI is the one which would need to make this work. My MA2 has Obstacle avoidance and works even though I’ve never needed it. Enjoy.

Thanks Mike. I had read the comment in the article but wrongfully assumed it was automatically disabled by dronelink. Great that we can beta test new developments and use the forum to communicate with each others to find solutions. To update my previous post and possibly help others, whilst the mission flew properly on the Samsung s7, on playback the video was not as smooth as that recorded using the s10.
Well done to Jim and the team at dronelink for getting it up and running
