M3E Invalid Takeoff Location Midflight
I have been flying waypoint missions with a designated takeoff location with my M3E. When I get weak signal error and the mission pauses, I'm not able to reinitiate my mission. When I press play, I keep getting the Invalid Takeoff Location message. I've flown the same missions with other drone models and never had this issue. The drone has to land and be in the takeoff area before I can restart the mission.

Need a constant clear connection at all times. Otherwise it won’t know what to do since no commands are being sent to the drone. If weak signal error then not much you can do except stay closer or try from a better location with a better line of sight. Curious at what distance it was at and what type of location. Rural area or Urban congested area. If not an issue then always a possibility there is a drone issue. Refresh firmware on both and see if it helps. Other then that I’m not sure why DL app would change the connection behavior.
Does the home location on the map change when the GPS signal comes back?
Jim McAndrew no, the home location did not change.
Mike, I'm not sure why I lost signal in this case. Was in a fairly flat area with nothing that should have interfered with the signal. I had good signal when trying to restart the mission.
I agree. Unfortunately there can be unknown reasons for a disconnect when it seems there shouldn’t be. I don’t have the Mavic 3 but doesn’t really matter when it comes to connection. I had it happen only once with my Mavic Air 2 while riding in a very rural Forest area were I live which I’ve flown many, many times. I was literally about 300’ from the drone when it happened. It Disconnected and tried to RTH way back about 2 miles so I had to pause it. Once the connection was back up which was fairly quick I tried to resume and it said the same thing. Drone take-off location 2 miles away so it would not resume from last spot. It has only happened once in about 2-1/2 years plus so I don’t worry about it. I always say it’s the technology age we live in. Nothing is perfect and Glitches happen for no apparent reason. I’m just guessing but it probably won’t happen again. I have about 2,000 minutes, (33 hours) with DL and my MA2 and only happened once. Just some thoughts and info. If it happens again then I’d report. Unless any issues I have happen can be repeated more then once I’d don’t report them.
Enjoy John.
