Max Altitude Reached: Increase the max altitude setting to continue

Mini mavic 2 flying this mission

https://app.dronelink.com/magil-bim/mcec/plan/zY7LRYon5sFYqMu6jkWj/ZKSVOE6OEU8PFSjYp61r

Maximum altitude is set to 120m (default setting) on both apps (DJI Fly and Drone link)

The issue : the mission failed most of the time because "Maximum Altitude Reached" although we're below the 120 mt (orthomap is 114 mt). Cancelling and restarting the mission usually fix the issue but it's still time consuming and annoying.

Any idea if this is happening because we're flight too close to the 120 mt limit? should we just increase that limit? We're flying downtown Montreal, maybe magnetic fields interfering with GPS signal?

EDIT forgot to add that usually the problem happened around 50m

Make sure you are using the most current firmware. If it is current and the problem still persists I’d refresh the firmware on drone and controller then Calibrate IMU and Compass. There was an issue awhile back which effected IOS devices only but was corrected. I also had an issue with my MA2 about two years ago and nothing fixed it except for refreshing everything. Can hurt and eliminates the possible issue. Go through it all and see if it corrects the issue. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply Mike, we'll give it a try and I'll let you know if it fixes it

Hi Mike, we tried but same result, the same issue occurs at the same spot at 45 meters altitude (max altitude set at 125 mt)

    Sounds like #5 possibly:

This is why Jim is the boss and probably correct as usual. Even though your in Canada the Air Control app actually does show a large area restriction in the Montreal area.

We have had situations in which the flight zone had to be unlocked, a specific message pops-out and the drone just won't take off. I don't think this is the issue, but we'll try to unlock that sector nonetheless and also will review the other 6 potential reasons in the list

Thanks! I'll get back here with the results ;-)

Have you look at the map in DJI Fly. If there are any of those colored zones you can click on it and it may show a max altitude. I’ve never had this happen but I believe it can restrict altitude as well as the flying area. As far as I understand, the DJI geo fencing is in the software and I believe can not only Lock out the motors from starting for a flight but also stops it from flying into a Geo fenced area and restrict altitude as well. If that area is all red and restricted by Canada TCCA then there is a good chance it is Geo fenced by DJI in some way. I Could be wrong but a thought. Doesn’t seem like it’s a DL issue but anything is possible. I’d did look on the DJI Fly Safe website and looks like the area near there has an altitude limit of 150’. The map is set to 374’.

Also I could not get the mission preview to run and it just loads forever. I looked closer and found you set the drones speed at start of the map at 0.0 mph. Can’t do that so I changed to 1 mph just to see and it loads. Anyway, just some info to consider. Good luck.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate your time... We'll definitely look into it, however I'm not sure it would explain the fact that at the second/third/fourth try the mission succeeds... if the zone was restricted, I'd expect the mission to fail all the time, or am I wrong? Anyway, I'll get back with the results

    Cheers
