Mini 3 Pro - Beta 4.5.0 - Connection difficulties, no video, app crash, error messages

Ole S

After eventually being able to download v 4.5.0 I installed it on two smartphones, Samsung S23 Ultra, and an older Sony Xperia device.

When using the Xperia, I got a warning saying this is an older device which may have performance issues. Still it was able to find the drone and connect automatically, without pairing.

Had to pair the S23 Ultra, which fist gave error message: REQUEST_HANDLER_NOT_FOUND, several attempts, finally was able to pair and connect with the Mini 3.

However, no video from either smartphone, and the app shut down on both devices.

When trying to re-open the app on the S23U, the phone says that this app has a bug, and I was recommended to clear the cache on the app. So I did, but still no video.

Think I will wait to put my Mini 3 Pro in the air using this app :D LOL :D

When does the app crash? Is it reproducible in the same way every time?

The app froze and closes after first launch, then I cleared the cache and it seemed like not crashing, no video though.

Then I tried again now this morning, and app started fine on my S23U, connected to the drone automatically, but then I rotated the phone/remote from portrait to landscape mode, and then the app closed again, after first giving a stretched/distorted screen.

Then I got another message saying there is something wrong with the app.

    See attached screenshots.

I am eager to get this working, will keep testing for you, keep up your hard work!
I might have some more phones to try on, S21U, A52, Iphone 8..

Just so you know my background; I am a skier and a photographer, and the main reason I am trying Dronelink, is that am hoping the Mini 3 Pro will track me better using Dronelink when I ski downhill, than the DJI Fly app/Active track, since DJI Fly will not allow the drone to go below take off height when using active track, which makes it useless for downhill skiing. DJI Fly / active track also struggles with following a skier on white snow, for some strange reason.

Reported both of these devices to DJI.

    Iphone 8

    This beta is Android only.

This is an issue in the DJI SDK and they are currently investigating it.

A bought the base version today, only to test with my Mini 3 Pro, but I am disappointed a bit... This is rather an alpha version.

V4.5.0 (240) tested with Samsung S21 Ultra today, seem a bit more stable than S23 Ultra, but still closes by it self after a while.

App seem to be provoced by rotating phone between portrait and landscape mode/display.

And still no video from drone.

Changing photo mode between video and photos seems to reinitializing the stream. Said that tested on Android 10 Huawei, Android 12,13 on Xiaomi.
