Doing some testing with the mapping function in Dronelink. The purpose of this map is to not create an Orthomosaic, but to be used to capture images to look for wildlife. Because of this I am running a map plan with a lot less overlap (included photo is 35% side and forward). As taking too many photos of the same spot gets confusing for the purposes of counting wildlife.
My question is how come when I make a map, the photos do not cover the entire outline area. When I draw an area that I want photos of, and then look at the preview it is clear that photos are missing. It is always towards the end of a line.
The simple solution at my end is to make the maps bigger than what I want. But it does add a fair bit of time and messing around to find the 'sweet' spot to add the extra photo on my lines to capture the area I wanted.
Is there something I am doing wrong? I have included a picture of the preview where the drone is flying towards the end of the line. As you can see there should be at least one more photo to ensure the map area is covered (I have verified that the drone camera selection in preview is the same as the one the mission was planed on. Mavic Pro as it didn't match by default the first time I noticed this)
I have used different browsers, and different computers. It is very easy to recreate.
Thanks very much for your time. Dronelink is very impressive.
