gradual descent to destination

David Tolson

I want to descend from 200ft to a destination point at 50ft. Normal behaviour is that the drone will descend first then fly horizontally at 50 ft. Can anyone remind me how to make this a gradual descent? I know I've seen it in a tutorial somewhere and I know I need to change some parameters but I can't figure it out.

Set the Interpolation to Curved or Linear. Usually default is set to Linear. Setting to “None” would be ascending straight up or down.

I Made a quick example and took a screen shot from DL Native app 3D view for you. From the right to left the First altitude change is “None”, very obviously straight up, Second is set to “Linear”, straight angled decent from there and third is set to “Curved”, obviously smooth curved downward.

    Enjoy. Mike……….

As you can see, the rate of the curve can be adjusted too.

    Many Thanks Mike,

That will do the job and is really helpful so thanks for taking the time. However, I want to do it within a mission plan on the web app not in the native app. I know I have done it before using a different method. I'll look back over some of my old flight plans to see if I can find it.

This was done with the Web app. I’m just showing how it will look with the Native app so you can see what each interpolation looks like. The only way to create and change anything is within the Web app. The Native app is just for flight.

Check the first screen shot which is the Web app. It shows the selection for interpolation in the plan. Just add a Marker where you want the elevation change and the set the interpolation to either Linear or Curved.

Here is that basic plan with each marker and the interpolations.

Here is a link to the official Dronelink 101 tutorial with markers and altitude changes. About 7:40 into the video shows specifically about adding markers with altitude. A ton of videos on their YouTube channel to assist you

    Good luck. Enjoy

That makes total sense now, thanks! I hadn't appreciated you could use markers in that way. That is going to be so helpful in my plans now.

Thanks once again for your great help :)

Yep. Very useful for adding or changing the Altitude, speed, drone heading, gimbal pitch, POI and adding some components. I use them a lot. Enjoy……..
