Can I ask a dumb question?
I have never flown a mapping mission because I don't see what it achieves. Why do you map an area and what is the output footage useful for? I can see why you may survey a building but mapping an area of land?
I need a lightbulb moment because I just don't get it.

The data is processed with a photogrammetry application to produce a 3d model of the topography. I used it to improve drainage on my property. There are many photogrammetry applications and services.
