Camera Start Capture Failed

Hi

I have been using grid maps with dronelink using a mavic mini with good success. Today I created a grid mission for a phantom 4V2. When the drone reached the start point I got the following error message "camera start capture failed". I pressed play again but no dice. For some reason the dronelink app was showing a photo timer interval of 10 seconds. I changed this to 2 seconds. Still no good. Restarted the drone and all that.

I then got out the mavic mini and completed the mission with no problems.

What was I doing wrong? I flew a waypoint mission with the phantom earlier that day with perfect results.

Thanks

Rhys

Next time it happens, can you try starting the camera from the shutter button manually to see if that works? If this type of error persists it usually indicates a hardware / DJI SDK issue.

Hi Jim, thanks for your reply.

Can you please step out that workflow for me as I dont fully understand. Should I start the grid mission in drone link, then press the shutter button before it arrives at the start point? If there is a hardware / DJI SDK issue what is the solution to that problem ? Warranty?

    Thanks

    Rhys

The next time you see the error just tap dismiss, and then try to tap the camera shutter button and see what happens.

    HI. i have same issue
The problem was caused by explicitly setting the focus mode to "Auto".
When I set it to "Manual" or left it as "-", the issue did not occur.
