Dronie Type Reveal

Tim Doyle

I'm trying to set up a backward reveal for a construction site to illustrate the work being done there. When I use the Dronie path from the general repo' I get odd behaviour from the drone initially pointing straight along the path then rotating back to the point of interest (this is seen using the "play" feature, I've not flown the mission yet). I don't seem to be able to remove it and I know I'm missing something obvious....Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance!

Tim

this is seen using the "play" feature

If you mean you are testing it in the browser, it is probably because you didn't rotate the drone to look at the subject (like you would do instinctively in the real world).

By the way, if you are flying for business you need a business plan.

    Hi Tim:

I Changed a few things. See if it’s what you wanted. It Looks good to me but not sure if it’s exactly what you were looking for. You can modify if needed.

    1. Don’t need the take-off restricted to “specific area” for this shot. I removed it by changing it to None.

    2. I Rotated the take-off point 180° from where it was so it doesn’t need to rotate the 180° to line up with the POI.

    3. I changed marker 1 to nearest coordinate instead of distance from start.

    4.  I deleted the immediate component gimbal orientation which had it at -90 degs. So instead of it rotating the gimbal down on the start of mission it’s set to the default forward position and more focused on the POI.

It seems to run correctly now. Let me know what you think. I’m still learning myself and it took me about 15 to 20 minutes to try a few things.

    Good luck, Mike.....

Mike (Arizona Wyldwest) - Many thanks Mike, really helpful. I'm just learning how this all works and couldn't see the wood for the trees!

Jim McAndrew - I'm just a hobby drone flyer, Jim. I'm an Engineer by trade and currently working as a consultant on flood alleviation construction site and thought the ability to repeat the same flights might be good to show how the construction progresses. I'm not getting paid for the drone stuff, its just for my use and curiosity.

    All the best

    Tim

Glad to assist Tim. I understand about being new to this. I started about threes months ago or so creating missions. I Watched most of the Dronelink 101 Tutorial videos and many of them a few times or more. I Started creating a bunch of different plans just to see how they would work with mission preview. The videos are extremely helpful. I still refer back to some of them to refresh this old mans brain. These mission apps have a learning curve to it but the more you use it, the better you will understand it and fairly quick.

    Enjoy, Mike..........
