Smart controller and MA2 will not find aircraft v 2.2.0(2142)
I have install the required google apps and the Dronelink app on my smart controller. I was never asked any permissions during installation. The app will not recognize my MA2 drone although the dji fly app does. I tried to reinstall from download the apps again but still no permission questions. Another anomaly is now my DJI Go4 app states it can’t use the dji go 4 app stating it is not the current version.

It sounds like there may be an issue with your SC. Have you tried a factory reset + update to the latest firmware?
Thanks. I did a full reset but the dji go 4 app still has the same problem. Interesting enough I contacted dji support for the controller and here is what they said about the dji go 4 app, don’t use it because of technical issues with google play. Could that also be the issue with Dronelink not showing device?
“The app you are using cannot be updated via Google Play due to technical reasons. You can visit DJI’s official website at www.dji.com/downloads/djiapp to download and install the latest apk file to update the app. There is no need to be concerned, as user experience, functions, and privacy protections on apps installed through DJI’s official website are still the same as before, so please feel free to use them.”
Update: I performed a full factory reset, then refreshed my SC firmware and reloaded the google apps and DroneLink software. After that it recognized my MA2 and I was able to fly my first mission. So far so good. Just trying to learn how to start the mission, it appears I have to run the mission simulator first.
You do not have to run the simulator first, it's just recommended.
