Mavic Mini plan won't start

Trevor Smith

Hi

I tried to fly my first plan today but the mission wouldnt start. I took off manually and hovered for a while at 4mtrs in the takeoff restriction area but when I clicked the Start button a message popped up saying something like 'Drone is 0 mtrs from the takeoff restriction area'. While designing the plan I moved the start of the path away from some trees to give me better VLS but although the takeoff restriction area is in the correct place at the start of the path the takeoff marker remained in its original position. Could that be the reason?

regards
Trevor

You need to move your drone inside the orange area on the map before takeoff, or make the takeoff restriction area larger.

    Hi Jim

Thanks for the quick reply. I was in the centre of the orange zone when trying this.

It doesn't matter if you fly your drone over the orange zone and hover, it has to be in the orange zone when you takeoff. The whole point is DJI resets the altimeter on takeoff so it has to be from that ground elevation.

I also tried taking off from the ground within the orange zone but got the same message. Does it matter if the takeoff marker has become detached from the takeoff zone?

The purple maker doesn't matter. Judging by the error message (0 meters), it sounds like you took-off right outside the edge of the orange zone. Can you please try increasing the size or removing it all-together.

OK, thanks. I will try again when the weather permits.
