Mavic Air 2

Steve Combes

Hello,

I have a slightly different question to the usual ones..

Can I use the Dronelink app to fly the drone as I would with the DJI go 2 app?

I have a very specific data capture requirement and it relies on orbit mode, which is not available with the DJI fly app. the version on there does video, I am doing photogrammetry so I need to do lots of orbits at various heights. every survey is different so automation wont work in this example so I just want the more advanced orbit mode that is in the older app.

will I be able to use dronelink to do this? I have used auto flights on my dronelink account and that worked fine, but I have never tried just flying around manually.

many thanks

Steve

Dronelink can be used as a manual flight app, but it does not have 100% the functionality that the DJI GO / DJI Fly apps have. If / when you find a missing feature, you have to switch to one of those apps and then switch back.

so I just want the more advanced orbit mode that is in the older app

Which app are you referring to? Have you tried using the new Orbit mode under the On the Fly (lightning bolt) tab in the native app?

Higher level question: are you attempting to create a digital twin of a cell tower? If so, there are many other issues that we have solved with a product called Scanlink, which is purpose-built for helping companies scan tall, skinny, vertical structures at scale.

    Hi Jim,

yes could you send a link to scanlink, I tried to google it but just got some company profiles.

I can continue this discussion on email as this is an open forum.
